I have said it before and I’ll say it again. Fretboard fluency is one of the most beneficial techniques you can gain on the guitar. Unfortunately, mastering this skill is usually hampered by two obstacles. This one’s got some rave reviews on Amazon and I’ll probably put it on my to buy list. To be honest I don’t think it’s something I need, but you know what it’s like, us guitarists just can’t get enough of this stuff, we’re all info buying addicts!

Fretboard Theory makes a refreshing change to what you expect from the typical guitar book based on the same topic. I’m glad to say Desi has taken a slightly different approach to the vast majority (that I’ve seen) that tackle the subject of mastering the fretboard. All the important stuff is covered, like how to piece the common scale positions together and how they tie into the CAGED system and arpeggios plus a chapter on modes.
